Ancient UndThe first Etruscan pyramid-like building was actually discovered very recently in the city of Orvieto, Italy. Only around three years or so, depending on when you’re reading this article, was this marvelous structure spotted buried underground.
What gave away the fact that it was built to mimic the Etruscan style is the fact that it had the stairs that were directly carved inside of the wall.
In case you didn’t know already, that is one of their signatures right there. In order to actually get inside of the pyramid though they needed to dig through the walls and floors.
After having done so the team actually stumbled across what appeared to be an ancient series of underground tunnels and cave systems which were way larger than anything they’d expected to find in this type of structure.
