‘Cubby’ losing his spirit that used to light up a room from stress at shelter

Cubby, a seven-year-old boy, is losing his spirit. This sweet senior used to light up the room at the Humane Society for Hamilton County (Indiana) with his cheerful and positive personality, but the stress of the shelter has dulled his always optimistic persona.

Cubby wants to be loved. He wants a home with a comfy bed where he may see the sunrise and regain his enthusiasm every morning.

WHEN WILL I BE SUFFICIENT? WHEN AM I GOING TO BE LOVED AGAIN?

WE JUST WANT TO REMIND YOU THAT HE IS A BIG DOG AND WILL REQUIRE A FAMILY THAT CAN WALKING AND HANDLE HIS STRENGTH.

Unfortunately, would-be adopters visit the shelter, and while Cubby still puts on his sweetest smile and pleasant disposition, people will remark things like, “we love him, he’s just a little old for us” and/or “he’s so sweet, but I’m not sure I want a pit bull.”

Cubby requires a home with children above the age of eight and no cats. He has lived with dogs well, but would love to meet your pet here at the shelter to ensure everyone is a good fit.

“We understand that the shelter can be frightening for dogs when they first arrive. Our behaviour department has considered Cubby’s past as well as his positive interactions with children at the shelter, and we have decided to remove Cubby’s age limit. Just to emphasise, he is a large dog and will need a family capable of walking and handling his power.”

If you’re interested in adopting or fostering, just fill out an application and come to the shelter; there’s no need to wait for a call.
