Hello, everyone! I don’t think I ever introduced myself. My name is Michael, and I call Pasco, WA, my home. I’m a proud father of three amazing kids, all under the age of 5, and I’m fortunate to share my life with an incredible wife who’s been my rock through thick and thin. Before diving into the world of Mustangs, I spent 8 years serving in the military as a combat medic. I was attached to a Marine Corps unit and had the privilege of embarking on two tours in Iraq. Now, as a dedicated family man, my priorities have shifted, and my passion for cars has found a new avenue.
My journey into the world of classic cars began with a special vehicle – a numbers-matching 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. This beauty had been in our family since 1995, and it carried with it countless memories and experiences. However, recently, I decided to part ways with it and venture into uncharted territory. I
crossed over to the “Mustang dark side.”
For those who know me well, they’d attest that I’ve always been a MOPAR (Chrysler) guy. So, transitioning to a Ford Mustang is a major shift for me. As a newcomer in the world of Mustangs, I’m going to need a lot of help with questions and answers about these fantastic cars.
Given that my family remains my top priority, I simply don’t have the time to dedicate to building cars from the ground up like I used to. So, I’m not ashamed to admit that I bought a Mustang that’s already quite the monster. Allow me to introduce her.
She’s a Pro-Touring 1967 Fastback, and she’s an absolute beast. Under the hood, she’s powered by a 351W engine that’s been stroked to a whopping 427 cubic inches. With an Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI system, this machine boasts impressive fuel injection capabilities. It’s paired with a T56 Viper Spec transmission, ensuring that every shift is precise and powerful.
The rear end is equipped with a Strange 3rd Member featuring 3.70 gears and a Detroit TruTrac differential. To provide a smooth and responsive ride, I’ve installed Street or Track coil-over front suspension paired with Bilstein Shocks. In the rear, you’ll find leaf springs with Fay’s 2 Watts Link, ensuring that the Mustang hugs the road with confidence.
To enhance the vehicle’s structural integrity, I’ve added welded subframe connectors. This ensures that the car’s chassis is solid and ready for any performance challenge. The exhaust system is a V-banded masterpiece, equipped with Hooker Maxflows, guaranteeing a powerful and satisfying growl.
For safety and track days, I’ve installed a full roll cage, which not only enhances safety but also reinforces the car’s structure for spirited driving.
