Meet Petey, the one-year-old dog who spent his entire life in a shelter until his paw-some rescue. He was transferred to SPCA Wake last year in early October and became their longest resident. Despite their best efforts, no one wanted to adopt him.
But fret not, fellow canines and hoomans! The staff at SPCA Wake didn’t give up on Petey. They shared his story and photo on Facebook, hoping to find him a loving forever home.
And guess what? It worked! A few weeks later, a family saw Petey’s photo and fell in love immediately. They rushed to the shelter and adopted Petey right away.
The moment Petey realized he was going to his new home, he couldn’t contain his excitement! His big smile captured everyone’s hearts, and the photo went viral.
