It’s amazing how we keep finding hundreds of new canine rescue tales that never fail to make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s easy to lose hope and fail to see the bright side of things at times. We wish we could do more as dog lovers, but all we can do is sympathize with canine rescues we see online. Fortunately, there are those who can help us bridge the gap.
A small dog rescue channel named ‘Love Furry Friends – Rescue Channel‘ on YouTube has been actively reaching out and rescuing the lives of Ukraine’s numerous stray canines. It was founded by a woman who adores dogs and would do everything to aid an animal in need. She claims that there are a lot of strays in Ukraine who need attention, and that the number doubles during the winter because
it’s generally really cold.
She has a team of workers that go out into the streets and rescue abandoned, homeless, and abused pets. They fund all of their rescues out of their own pockets and, if they are fortunate, through contributions. They make certain that each dog they rescue has the opportunity to find a loving permanent home without charging any adoption fees to the prospective dog owners.
It is true that occasionally individuals who do not have much prefer to offer more. A kind-hearted homeless guy named Oleg, like the rescuers, has saved over 30 pets. We’ll see how he managed to create a temporary shelter for over 30 dogs in the vacant lot where he stayed.
When the rescuers were told of the situation, they promptly headed to Oleg’s position to see how they might assist. They came at a large unoccupied property, far larger than the normal vacant lots they saw. A tiny tent and a few pieces of split wood as temporary seats were in the center, along with a few bricks and charcoal for cooking.
They discovered that the man rescued two dogs three years ago, but he didn’t have the money to get them spayed and neutered, which resulted in the 30 canines he currently has.
As they glanced about, they noticed several dogs ranging from puppies to adults, each with their own secure zone. Some were hiding, while others were openly roaming around and playing. They didn’t appear to dislike their current circumstances, and they seemed content. Borya is the name of one particular joyful small pooch. The pup was not from the same litter, according to Oleg. He had just discovered and rescued it from a location along the road. Borya obviously adores Oleg and follows him everywhere.
They had to leave after meeting most of the puppies and vowed to return the next day with food for both Oleg and the dogs. The dogs quickly scented the food in the large sacks when they arrived! They raced around enthusiastically, expecting to be fed. You could tell these dogs had never been through anything like it before. Because it was a large lot, the rescuers had to travel around leaving heaps of kibble for the dogs. They also made certain that they had access to safe drinking water.
While walking around, Oleg said that there were pups living in the burrows. They must be transferred due to the dangers of remaining in the little holes where they spent the most of their time. Some puppies are said to have died of asphyxia when the holes collapsed and buried them in the sand.
They gradually found the puppies their permanent homes. Borya was the first to be adopted! It didn’t take long for internet users to fall in love with this little one. A man contacted them because he was inspired by Borya’s commitment and wanted to give the little boy a lifelong home. This, of course, made Oleg happy; he bid Borya farewell and wished him success with his new family.
Just when they thought everything was going well, they received a phone from Oleg informing them that Tima, his beloved dog, had been hit by a car. A homeless dog’s life entails living day to day in danger and the possibility of being wounded. Fortunately, he survived with relatively minor injuries. Tima was continually weeping and couldn’t move when they came. They rushed him to the pet hospital and had to carry him in a certain way to avoid further injury. During the inspection, doctors discovered that the accident had broken his right hip and fractured his left hind limb, which required surgical repair. Tima’s post-surgery therapy requires him to stay in the hospital for at least a month.
Because of the large number of dogs in the region, they do not instantly detect all of their ailments. It wasn’t until Tima’s accident that they realized one of the dogs, Julie, had an eye damage that required two weeks of treatment. Oleg made certain of it. To assure her recovery, he promised to treat her eyes four times a day.
After about a week, things began to look up. The good news began to flow in! Julie and Tima were both healing. Tima’s operation went well, and she was soon ready for adoption, while Julie’s eye was slowly recovering.
Before they could arrange for the adoption of the remaining dogs, they had to ensure that they wouldn’t breed any more. A full day was spent gently collecting and spaying the female canines. They’d be ready for adoption when they recovered.
