A dog who has never been inside before takes his first nap in a real bed

Sundae had spent her entire existence in a junk-filled backyard and a freezing garage.

The coonhound/Labrador retriever mix was rescued from a dog-hoarding scenario in Oklahoma City by Country Roads Animal Rescue Society, and she gave birth to a litter of puppies without ever entering a home.

That is, until her foster mother demonstrated the value of a warm bed. Sundae’s face lit up with relief as she lay down to rest.

Sundae felt certain she was secure.
Sundae’s foster mom, Mugglequeen, posted on Reddit, “We’ve had her for about a week, and you’d never know she’s never been an inside dog before.” “She’s entirely toilet trained, kind, and courteous indoors.”

Mugglequeen gave Sundae her name since it seemed to suit her sweetness and the gorgeous chocolate, vanilla, and caramel colors on her face. Sundae was suspicious of men at first, but after her foster mom placed a pair of her boyfriend’s shorts on the bed – Sundae’s favorite location — she warmed up to him.

Sundae has become the most devoted of the girls, often snuggling with her foster mother whenever she gets the chance. “She like to sleep as near to me as possible in bed,” Mugglequeen wrote. “I guess she’s simply making up for eight or so years of no affection.”

Sundae is finally receiving the medical treatment she deserves after a lengthy period of neglect. Her veterinarian revealed that she is heartworm positive and needs dental treatment, but she is otherwise healthy. Sundae’s pups are being cared for by other foster homes, leaving her with nothing to do but wait for the ideal family to fall in love with her.

“Her ideal family would lead a very leisurely lifestyle and be very patient with her as she continues to come out of her shell and build confidence,” Mugglequeen stated. “She’ll be with me till she finds her ideal forever family!”

Hopefully, someone will adopt this adorable mom dog and receive a lifetime snuggling partner soon.
